Who we are
MakeMyLoan Pty Ltd (trading as MakeMyLoan) operates the MakeMyLoan website and the Broker OS platform used by Australian mortgage and finance brokers. Credit Representative 389087, authorised under Australian Credit Licence ACL 548289. Where we arrange or assist with regulated consumer credit, we do so under the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 (Cth).
What personal information we collect
- Identity and contact details โ name, email, phone, address, date of birth
- Loan enquiry information โ loan type, amount, purpose, property details and preferences
- Financial details you choose to provide โ employment, income, expenses, assets and liabilities
- Documents you upload through the client portal (for example payslips, bank statements and identification)
- Communication records โ emails, SMS, portal messages and call notes
- Portal, login and session data โ sign-in events, device and security information
- Referral partner details where you were introduced to us by a referrer
- Website analytics and cookie data (see Cookies below)
- Your marketing consent and communication preferences
We only collect sensitive information (for example health information relevant to a hardship request) where you provide it and it is reasonably necessary, and we handle it with your consent as the APPs require.

- The secure broker and client portal, including documents you upload
- Phone, email and SMS communication with our team or your broker
- Referral partners who introduce you, with your knowledge
- Third-party service providers we use to operate the platform (for example identity verification, document storage, email and SMS delivery)
- Cookies and analytics when you browse our website
Why we collect it
- To respond to your loan enquiry and match you with an appropriate broker
- To provide credit assistance โ assessing your situation, comparing lenders and products, and preparing applications
- To operate the client portal, including document collection and progress updates
- To meet our compliance, responsible lending and record-keeping obligations, including audit trails
- To provide support and keep the platform secure
- To send you marketing only where you have consented โ you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every marketing email or by contacting us
If you do not provide the information we ask for, we may be unable to respond to your enquiry or provide credit assistance.
Who we may disclose it to
- Brokers and credit representatives who act on your enquiry
- Lenders and their agents, when preparing or lodging an application
- Aggregators and licensees involved in providing credit assistance
- Referral partners, only where relevant to your introduction and with appropriate limits
- Service providers โ identity verification, document and cloud storage, email/SMS delivery and payment processing
- Professional advisers such as lawyers, accountants and auditors
- Regulators, the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA), and others where the law requires or permits
Overseas disclosure
We primarily store data in Australia. Some of our cloud and software providers may process or store limited data outside Australia โ the countries vary by provider and commonly include the United States. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the APPs.
Storage, security and retention
- Access to personal information is restricted to people who need it to do their job
- Significant actions on the platform are recorded in tamper-evident audit logs
- Documents are held in private, access-controlled storage and provider credentials are encrypted
- We retain records for as long as needed for the purposes above and to meet legal record-keeping obligations, then take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify them
Access and correction
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Contact us using the details below โ we will respond within a reasonable period and will not charge you for making the request.
Data breaches
If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will assess it and notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
